At 10,000 frames per second, this advertisement for Schweppes soft drinks really captures the moment. Director Garth Davis said: “This campaign is one of those rare gems. It’s not very often in a commercial realm, you can be truly artistic… testament to the strength of the idea and the client’s willingness to make something special (even if a little nervous!)”

A beautiful piece of imagery, I’ll give you that. But the music puts me off. I almost didn’t want to watch it b/c I thought “okay colours.old. slow music. old. slow motion. old.” Thankfully I did, because the way they captured the balloons bursting, the shapes of the ‘water’ or Schwepps even, is amazingly beautiful. I could watch it over and over.

The 6 and 48 sheets will be almost unreal to look at, which if you haven’t seen the commercial will sadly, be lost on you, well, on gen pop. They’ll think it was sumting fancy done on the computer.

So let’s chop this bad boy down to it’s 30 second little brother and get the second half out there!

Mind you, this is for/in Australia, so it probably is.

I’m still a huge fan of the old Schwepps ads:
